Troop 677 was founded in 1993 and is made up of Scouts from Issaquah and Sammamish, WA. Current 2023 membership is 17 Scouts. Troop 677 is chartered by the Issaquah Rotary Club. Since the troop began, 90 Scouts have earned and were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.

Scouts encompass the age range of 6th grade until a scout turns 18 years of age. Anyone in that age range can join the troop. We have a very diverse group of families in our troop, which only expands our scouts' experiences and horizons. All are welcome.
Younger scouts should look for Cub Scout Packs in the area for 1st-5th graders. We can recommend Pack 684 at Sunny Hills and Pack 225 at Creekside. If a scout is a Cub Scout first, they will bridge into a Scout troop about mid-way through their 5th-grade year. If they haven't started as a Cub Scout, they can start Scouts when they enter 6th grade.

Troop Meetings
Troop meetings are held on the lower level of Mary Queen of Peace Church across from Skyline High School:

Meetings are in the big center room under the nave. Go down the stairs on either side of the doors to the nave (just inside the main central entrance) and look for rooms C123 or C139. Either of these will take you into the central meeting room.
Troop meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on Monday nights when school is in session, and last until 8:00 p.m. Parents are encouraged to attend. There are no meetings during the summer or on school holidays.
The first Monday of each month (Sept-June) is a Scout leader planning meeting (called a PLC). There is no troop meeting that day, but if scouts would like to propose an activity, they are welcome to attend to help with planning. Scouts can also attend to work on advancement with older scouts.

Troop 677 has high parental participation and several older Eagle Scouts act as mentors and role models. The troop is very active, having events planned many weekends of the year. Scouts are not required to participate in every event and choose what to do according to their own interests and their family’s time constraints. Some scouts take time off periodically to pursue their other interests or obligations, such as during sports seasons.
Troop 677 is a family-oriented troop, and families are always welcome to participate. This provides a strong, cohesive community for the troop and underscores the value of the family. The scouts hold a scout-led family BBQ meeting in the late summer. The entire troop of scouts then brainstorms, plans and schedules the troop events for the coming year.
Webelos cross over from Cub Scouts in early spring, and on average we welcome six to eight new scouts annually.

Elections for elected Scout leadership positions occur every 6 months, allowing all scouts to contribute to the organization and running of the troop. Some positions are appointed positions. Scouts should indicate their interest in an appointed position to the adult leaders.
